AppExchange Amplified Talent Show: Building a Real-World Salesforce PDF Solution with Portwood DocGen

One of the best ways to learn Salesforce is by building something that solves a real business problem.

That’s exactly what participants did during the AppExchange Amplified Experience, where Salesforce professionals from the community learned how to implement Portwood DocGen, a powerful AppExchange solution for generating documents natively within Salesforce.

But the learning didn’t stop there.

After the Build-Along concluded, participants were invited to put their new skills into practice by creating something of their own using Portwood DocGen and submitting a short video for the AppExchange Amplified Talent Show.

Today we’re excited to highlight our winning submission from Tayler Gammon.

From Learning to Building

Rather than recreating the Build-Along project, Tayler took what he learned and applied it to a business problem he knew firsthand.

Before transitioning into Salesforce, Tayler spent 16 years working in the hearing healthcare industry. Drawing on that experience, he built an application that generates professional, itemized invoices patients can submit to insurance companies for reimbursement.

It’s an excellent example of how Salesforce professionals can combine previous industry expertise with AppExchange solutions to create meaningful business value.

Why This Project Stood Out

Tayler’s submission demonstrated exactly what the AppExchange Amplified Talent Show was designed to encourage:

  • Applying newly learned skills to a real-world scenario
  • Solving an actual business problem
  • Leveraging AppExchange instead of reinventing functionality
  • Presenting a polished solution with a clear business case

His project shows that Salesforce expertise isn’t just about knowing the platform, it’s about recognizing opportunities to improve business processes.

Are You an AppExchange Partner?

The AppExchange Amplified Experience is designed to help AppExchange partners showcase their solutions through hands-on, educational experiences – not product pitches.
